HAS A POLLSTER CONTACTED YOU ABOUT MEASURE H??

As part of a campaign to influence your to vote against Measure H, an initiative that would ban the raising of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Mendocino County, you may be contacted by a pollster from Promark Research.

For example, here are some of the questions that have been used to mislead voters about Measure H, as reported by voters in Mendocino County:

Would it change your vote on this issue if you knew:

  1. The initiative was written for the benefit of one big wine grower that is owned by a giant overseas corporation?
  2. Measure H will protect private property rights?
  3. Measure H curiously creates a loophole for bacteria?
  4. The AMA supports GMOs?

Furthermore, the "pollsters" have asked voters whether they agree with statements such as:

  1. Measure H is too extreme but the County needs some sort of oversight over GMOs.
  2. The proposed ordinance is poorly written and the proponents should go back to the drawing boards to rewrite it.
  3. Measure H is bad governance; regulation of GMOs should be left to the federal government.
